Quarter 3 Math
The majority of this quarter is about fractions. In 3rd grade we use the denominators 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8. Students need to model fractions as part of a set, fraction bar, area model, and on a numberline.
Quarter 3 ELA
Module 3 is about the fantasy story, Peter Pan. We analyze character point of view, plot, and endings. Students form their own point of view and write an essay recommending the book. Students also will write an alternative ending to the story while preserving the integrity of the story.
Q3 Science
This quarter we are learning about force in motion and states of matter..
Quarter 3 Social Studies
Our topic this quarter is financial literacy. Students will learn cost and profits. They will think about a business they might like to pursue We will work in collaborative teams and Ms. Towns, our school store manager, t try new items for our school store. Students will advertise their team item and track the sales. Our first 3 weeks of school students will have Social Studies, not Science.
